    Extra space appearing in table

    Hey

    I am currently making a website for my band and have just started on a
    news/updates section. I have created the table layout with images and it looks
    ok. There is one problem, though: serveral blank lines are appearing in one
    of my table cells. I tried things like margin-top:0 and even margin-top:-200px, but
    I have had no success.

    The address to the page is http://www.dev.stainlessband.com/m.html
    I have left the table borders in so you can get a decent idea of the cell
    sizes.

    If anyone can help, that would be great!

    Thx in advance,
    Flare

    <td class="sides" style="background-image:url(s.jpg);">&nbsp;</tr>
    </table>
    </body>
    </html>
    For starters you're missing a closing </td> tag in the code above. Also, some of your style rules don't have a unit of measure:

    Code:
    .fix
    {
    position:relative;
    margin-top:-200;
    left:10;
    }
    Finally, it appears the background image for news/updates is repeating in IE6 which you probably don't want. It looks as if the height of the containing cell needs to be adjusted.

    All the same, rock on!!
    I got into the world of coding starting with my band's website too. The band is no more, but I'm still coding...
    Computer, kill Flanders... Did I hear my name? My ears are burning...
    Good start. Now finish the job.

    Fixed it.
    Thanks for your help with finding errors my attention span will not allow me to
    correct . What I did to fix it was just make a div layer above the text and
    set the height and width to 0px. Not completely sure how that fixed it, but it did.

    Thanks for your help!
