    What software can I use to write and view both html/css?

    Greetings fellow programmers. I am fairly new to HTML and CSS and would like your assistance. I have tried searching for the answers myself but I may not be looking in the right place to find the answers. Hence, my reason for signing up for this forum.

    I am currently using Textwrangler and I understand I need to make a index.html and a stylesheet.css file and combine them into one folder for my browser to read both html and css w/ the code: <link type="text/css" rel="stylesheet" href="stylesheet.css" to link them together.

    My question is there a software, ex. notepad++, that would let me enter html and css on the same page and let me view both languages on a browser vs writing html on one screen and css on another?

    Thank you in advance for your replies.

    Sublime Text has a split view functionality ( View -> Layouts ), where you can edit at least two files side by side... it's not exactly what you're looking for, but the closest I can think of.

    Ummm...*ANY* text editor--even lowly Notepad--can do both CSS and HTML at the same time. You just do *NOT* use a separate ".css" file.
    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html>
    <head>
    <style type="text/css">
    ... put all your css here ...
    </style>
    </head>
    <body>
    ... put your page HTML here ...
    </body>
    </html>
    Then, later, when you are happy with the page, you can move the <style> contents to a separate ".css" file.

    Ummm...you *CAN NOT* view "css on another". You can't VIEW css at all. You can only view the EFFECTS of CSS on the HTML it is included in or linked to.

    So you can't even do what you are asking for. Try again.

    Look at Blue Griffon for that and it has also WYSIWYG, or Bluefish Editor which has a button to preview in FireFox.

    @Old Pendant- you're correct as in you can't view css but i just needed to see the effects. i had misplaced my style tag in the head instead of the body, which is why i couldn't see the effects of CSS.
