    Changing navigation text colour

    Hey guys,
    i can add borders when i reach an certain div with scrolling , change the font-family but the only thing i can't change is the font colour.

    I'm using this as CSS:
    #sidemenu li.selected {color:rgba(184,30,32,1.00); border-bottom:solid 2px #e19904; }

    But the colour of the font just wont change.

    Anyone got an solution for this?

    Hello DesignedbyLau,
    Probably a specificity issue, your desired color is being overridden from somewhere else. You could try something like #sidemenu li.selected p , could be specific enough. If that doesn't do anything, link us to the test site so we can have a look.
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad

    Without a link to your page there is no way to determine whether that rule actually gets applied.
    100% standards compliant code is 100% correct 100% of the time.
    one of my toys from my repository and perhaps some help getting help

    Could it be a problem with the rgba method? It's a long shot, but maybe if you test with "red" or something then that might lead somewhere....

    Inspect the element and check if the specified color is being overridden by other more specific rules.
