New to coding, how do you link tabs to different pages?

I want to have a tabbed interface, but I'm not sure how to write the code. Do I need different files for each tab or do you put classes/id's on the divs?

If it were me, I'd make a tabbed interface the same way I made any other navigation. That is a file that contains the "tabs" navigation, that gets included into each of the individual content pages, one for each tab.

btw this is the website https://db.tt/Vgv66so9

I don't want to have to change url and reload the page though, I just want to be able to switch between the tabs (like on google.com, you can click on the top right grid to see google's other products - without the url changing. Imagine if there were several of these grids)
