Adding a widget to track recent posts to your site

    Hello everyone,

I am extremely new to coding and have been teaching it to myself through youtube and other internet sources. I am currently working on creating my first website and I'm starting from scratch, no template or anything. I am writing the CSS myself and coding all the HTML myself as well. It has been extremely fun so far but I have come upon one issue that simple google searches have not solved yet. I want to add a widget of some sort to my home page that will track any recent post that is made in my blog page or my reviews page and display the newest posts in a small box on my home page. I have not been able to figure out how to do this, or if it is even possible with just CSS and HTML alone. Do I need to use a Java script to do something like this? Like I said, I only started learning how to code a couple of days ago so if this seems like a stupid question or if it is something that isn't even really possible then my mistake. Any help would be greatly appreciated though!

That looks like it is exactly what I want! I would have to use wordpress as my blog for that to work though, correct? Or could I use that plugin and connect it to a different blog?

I don't know about that, but I've heard that wordpress is very popular. If you are just beginning, you may want to start with a template. Then work on things while that site is live.
