    two column page

What's the easiest way to create a 2 column (each with a different colour) and the color will stretch till the end of page no matter how big the page is, just like this website:

    http://www.galerienelsonfreeman.com/

    Please help.

    PS. I don't want a header.

    Hello lixiao,
The simplest 2-column layout is like this demo.

To have your columns fill the entire page no matter which has more content, look at these -

And the faux columns method, you'd just need a different image to do 2 columns instead of the 3 in the demo.
Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad

    Thank you!

But how can I get rid of the header and footer? And how can I have the left column for only about 5cm wide whereas the right column fill up the rest of the screen?

Just edit the HTML, take out the header and footer there.
Adjust the width of columns in the CSS.
