    CSS position help

    Hello. On my webpage I have set it up so that a drop-down menu will be in the the exact center of two tables but I have struck a problem.
    I wanted to make the menu's table stand out so I positioned it using position:relative to be below the top table by 5px. I then tried the same command with my body's table and it worked fine but the problem was that the drop-down menu goes below the body's table like it is being over ridden.

    Here is a picture:

    Here is the codes I am using:

    Code:
    #headtable {width:1100px;
    			height:100px;
    			margin:auto;
    			}
    #headtr{background-color:#800000;}

    #menutable {width:1100px;
    			height:48px;
    			margin:auto;
    			position:relative;
    			top:5px;
    			}
    #menutr{background-color:black;}

    #bodytable {width:1100px;
    			height:100px;
    			margin:auto;
    			position:relative;
    			top:10px;
    			}
    #bodytr{background-color:#800000;}
    What have I done wrong and what can I do to fix it?

    Cheers

    J

    I found a simple z-index:-1; did the trick but it has prevented me from clicking links or interacting with iframe on google chrome? IE works wine though... help?

    This is the code I am using that works in IE but not chrome:

    Code:
                            #bodytable {width:1100px;
    			height:100%;
    			margin:auto;
    			position:relative;
    			top:10px;
    			z-index:-1;
    			}
