How difficult is it to make this?

First, this is an "updating and self "sizing" based on content entered" also the image on the left updates as well depending on the choice of "do or don't do"

For further clarification, the website is here:
    beforeidoyoudo.com

The image below is what I would like to make.
How difficult would it be for someone who only knows how to create text and line breaks on html?

That's like asking how difficult would it be for someone who knows only how to drive a car to fly a 747 jumbo jet.

Not too hard, with the exception of that inside rounded corner, which would be pretty tricky to pull off. An invisible containing element for centering, a float property for the date, percents for dynamic width, you could even use a class to display one or the other images; Not ideal, but quite manageable if you are manually entering new sections. A few tutorials on the CSS box model — and perhaps the other mentioned methods — would likely allow you the skills to construct such an object. I suppose it also depends on how easily you learn, and the quality of the information you choose to learn from.

Hello Coothead, first, lo siento, 2 years later I'm getting back to you haha

    Life has been interesting.

I'm in the process of building an auto-parser tool that grows depending on the user. I haven't quite solved it yet and have defined what exactly the purpose of the website is.

Here's an example of a sample use :

    text input is "Pizza"
    keyphrase input is "15"
you click "parse me bro" (haha)
and this would be stored into your personal database, and 15 minutes later an email would be sent to you notifying you about the pizza.
Ideally this thing would be cross platform, so an alarm could be said to turn on.

this tool has a lot of useful stuff, it's primarily for people with bad short term momery / adhd and those who are intelligent enough to grasp its value / program it which isn't really programming I'm the one who will be designing algorithms but when you go on the desktop view, you can create your own and share it with others.

Anyway... I could make that up there now with what I know although Custard7A (funny name love custard) did make a good point which I think isn't hard actually, just take an image of an inverted corner like that and append it or attach it to the corner of the top row and bottom row which are floated to the right, maybe just attach it to the bottom column.

I didn't code for 2 years I only recently began actually, I wasted 6 months working on Touch Develop which is by Microsoft... scripting via online sucks it turns out, too slow to actually use unlike a native / local app

    Anyway thanks for the input

Sorry it's been two years funny when you log into random websites and you have an account there

The file you attached doesn't seem to work

i see loren ipsum then a broken image link which I could fix but uhhh a screenshot would have probably helped of the actual product in a browser window but that's alright thanks anyway for humoring me

    Hi there GreenAce92,

The file you attached doesn't seem to work
In which browser/OS does the code not work for you?

For me, it works OK with "Windows 7" and these browsers...
    • IE11
    • Firefox 34.05
    • Google Chrome 39.0
    • Opera 12.17
    • Opera 26.0
    • Safari 5.1.7

Oh wow, this is really good.

I'm curious how you did it. I would have used three panels it looks like yours is in one piece.

I opened up the css file, it's actually not.

Wow that was great, I guess it isn't possible to do an inward curve then, I see you used an image.

    great work! wow

I think in the future I will get another 2GB VPS and use one of the three IP's they provide and build this website.

I've learned a lot and I'm almost at that point where I can build anything I had thought about in the past. I'll see about building this website as well.

    Thank you once again.

How difficult is it to make this?-initial-design.jpg

How difficult is it to make this?-scale.jpg

Ehhh front end interface design can suck

It's like, I had to force this thing using absolute positioning, what's going to happen when you scale it eg. screen changes?

For the most part it auto-scales

My friend is a graphic designer and I asked him to make this appear 3D and worn with scratching, raised-rounded corners and shadow effect.

He asked me to create a mock-up that wasn't a sketch with highlighter haha

I made it and it sucks

    I don't know...

I'm going to ask him to make the background for the logo transparent so it can just float.

The main problem I'm having is that when I use precentages, the div's do not show up. Worse if I use autoheight and I put in a text box or something, the element is small, I can add padding but it isn't what I initially wanted.

I have been using opacity: 0.99; to get things to show up even without something in them, but then the varying opacities are noticeable ehhh...

I have to order the elements correctly and use Z-index to get things to overlay

I can't seem to get a solid border to show up with a transparent background, I was trying to apply that to the half circle.
