Question How to make those Countdown Tickers for your own website?

    Hello all,

I've been searching and searching the web for a tutorial or "how to" on creating your own Countdown Tickers to be placed on your site as a type of generator (so member/reader can choose what date they want to start the countdown from, among other things). So that readers can place them on their own webpages and forum signatures etc. You know those tickers for weight loss, pregnancy, time till or up to, or from an event etc etc. Like from Tickerfactory.com and others.

The one I've specifically designed the graphics for is based on the one on the one on this site. http://global.thebump.com/tickers/Fe...ackground.aspx Where the Icon doesn't just move across, but with each week passed the wording underneath changes along with it.

Basically I've used photoshop to create the static background, the icon and the changing words all in the design itself (with the use of layers and groups etc.), so I would prefer if someone could tell me a way to get the pages to change to that of the current week of pregnancy for the member according to what they entered on my site. If that makes any sense...

I've scoured the internet and have yet to come across any such tutorial, not even something totally basic. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I wouldn't expect that to give any links at all since there's no such thing as Jquerry.

Anyway you don't need jQuery in order to perform such a simple task - it only requires a couple of dozen lines of JavaScript to do it without needing the thousands of line of code built into jQuery.

Simply searching for 'countdown timer' should bring up lots of links - or alternatively take a look at http://javascript.about.com/library/blcount1.htm

Don't forget to start your JavaScript code with "use strict"; which makes it easier to find errors in your code.
