    Question adding a line to a table

    I am trying to add a line to a table (actually a shopping cart) at the moment there is a box around the word Checkout and the lines are too close.
    I've tried adding in a line using <tr> at the beginning and then </tr> at the end but am having no luck
    I am completely new to any kind of coding what so ever so i'm sorry if it is a dumb question.

    At the moment the coding round the checkout is:

    <td id='cart-widget-links' colspan="5">
    <a target="_parent" href="<?php echo get_option('shopping_cart_url'); ?>" title="<?php _e('Checkout', 'wpsc'); ?>" class="gocheckout"><?php _e('Checkout', 'wpsc'); ?></a>
    <form action="" method="post" class="wpsc_empty_the_cart">
    <input type="hidden" name="wpsc_ajax_action" value="empty_cart" />
    <a target="_parent" href="<?php echo htmlentities(add_query_arg('wpsc_ajax_action', 'empty_cart', remove_query_arg('ajax')), ENT_QUOTES, 'UTF-8'); ?>" class="emptycart" title="<?php _e('Empty Your Cart', 'wpsc'); ?>"><?php _e('', 'wpsc'); ?></a>

    If anyone can help be I would really really appreciate it... I can beg if you want

    You mean you want some space above and below the word “checkout”?
    Currently, the simplest way to add some space would be this:
    Code:
    <td id='cart-widget-links' colspan="5">
    <br>
    <a target="_parent" href="<?php echo get_option('shopping_cart_url'); ?>" title="<?php _e('Checkout', 'wpsc'); ?>" class="gocheckout"><?php _e('Checkout', 'wpsc'); ?></a>
    <br>
    <form action="" method="post" class="wpsc_empty_the_cart">
    That would add the height of one line above and below. However, this isn’t the most flexible and ideal way. Actually you should use CSS for that. We can’t give you any real advice with that little amount of code. Show us the entire source code of that page, please.
