    Validation Problems

    I am validating my website in W3schools and i get 1 error saying 'Missing xmlns attribute for element html. The value should be: http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml'

    But when I insert this I get more errors of 24 errors.what is going on?what is this xmlns attribute?

    To change it I take my html out and replace it with: html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    what am i doing wrong?

    Help is appreciated.

    Thank You

    It depends on what the new 24 errors are. They maybe because of end tag wrong type.

    use <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
    <head>
