    pic not showing in IE 8

    any idea why, on this page, the pic right below the "Upcoming Featured Event" heading does not show up in IE 8? Instead there's just a box with a red X through it. But it does show in Chrome or Firefox.

    this is what the code looks like when i firebug it:
    Code:
    <h2>Upcoming Featured Event</h2>
    <p>
    <a href="/events/10-19-11/">
    <img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-1588" height="495" width="700" title="GCCC2011 Web" alt="Gala" src="/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/GCCC2011-Web.jpg">
    </a>
    </p>
    please advise. thanks in advance!

    hmmm Well the only thing I can say is maybe one of your validation errors is causing it to not display. IE doesn't like invalid code.

    Actually that picture is in CMYK color space, which is not legit for web. You need to convert it to RGB.

    Hi there sixrfan

    Internet Explorer has a problem displaying JPEG images that have CMYK, rather than the default RGB encoding.
    The problem can be resolved by opening the .JPG file in an appropriate image editor.
    Either change the mode to RGB and then "Save" or use the "Save for Web" option.

    Alternatively you can use the attached image.
