    border issues

    Would like some clarification... thus far I have never encountered a problem and was wondering if anyone has.
    So let's set up an arbitrary border...
    border:2px ridge grey;
    now let's say i want to remove a piece of it...
    border-bottom:none;
    now so long as i code it in this fashion
    Code:
    ....
    border:2px ridge gray;
    border-bottom:none;
    ....
    it should always show the bottom border missing; correct? As I said I have not encountered an issue yet- but I want to make sure this is acceptable mark-up. I feel that this is both easier and cleaner then having something like
    Code:
    ...
    border-top:2px ridge gray;
    border-right:2px ridge gray;
    border-left:2px ridge gray;
    ...
    all over the place... also the this could be applied (if all elements in the page have borders set) to the following
    #divA, #divB, ... #divN{border-bottom:none;} would then remove all border bottoms from A through "N"

    this all accurate?
