Setting the height of a division

    Hi all,

I have a problem with CSS. I have a top menu division on my page which must have 50 px height. Under that div, there's the left menu division which must have 100% height of the rest of the page.

    So here's my problem:
Top menu division is 50 px. I set my html and body heights to 100% with CSS. I want the left menu section to cover the rest of the page height. But when I set the left menu division height to 100%, height becomes page height + 50 px height of the menu.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks

I think you are after a faux column layout.

    Hello telmessos,
See if this full height layout can be adapted to your purpose.
Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
