Can you use image as background & navigation?

Hello. My site has a large background image & a slightly irregular navigation menu, shown here: http://www.onamitorrance.com/dream-catering2.html

Is there a way to create hotspot links on the image while also using it as the background, or what is a good way to build the navigation bar?

You can place a transparent .gif sized to fit over the area of the menu and use an old fashioned HTML map in conjunction with the .gif to make links. It works better than it sounds.

Looking at your code you haven't actually got any divs set up for those areas. Although DrDos's method would definitely work - I would say that you should read up on how to align some divs to the areas of the page first; it's just kind of silly overlaying transparent gifs over a background when you don't really have to.

You could use absolute positioning to offset the positions like they are on the image and if you crop the individual links out first in photoshop you will have the dimensions of the div's all ready to go.
