    How to centralise this photo gallery?

    Hi,

    I have spent so long working on this please can somebody help. Is there a way to centralise this photo gallery with absolute position over the body tag yet can keep in relative position to the rest of the page (like the footer and the header/banners). I have tried adding an AP div (absolutely positioned) inside a relatively postioned div and and it still does not work. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Please see the page to understand what is going on. http://cakesrus.110mb.com/Picture2Us...togallery.html

    p.s. does anybody like my pictures?

    A lot of problems in there.
    -Link tags should go inside of the head.
    -Stylesheet doesn't need to be linked to twice.
    -Everything should be inside of either the head or body tags. That includes scripts.
    -If you are going to use an AP inside of a RP, make sure the relatively positioned item is positioned where you want it (try puyting a border around it).

    Hey, im new to this myself so may be wrong but try doing this.
    After line 114 before line 115 put a space and insert this :

    <table width="100%" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    Then after line 520 before line 521 put a space and insert this :

    </tr>
    </table>

    like i said im new at it myself so may not work but give it a try, let me know how it is. And pictures are nice, put perhaps putting a watermark thats abit more transparent as copyright is better so pics can be seen better.

    On the gallerific-2.css it says div.content float:right, change that to float:left. You could also set left:XX%; to move it inward instead of the float condition.

    PS: djh101 is right, there's a lot of things that need to be fixed besides the position.

    Thanks everybody for your help it has definately helped a lot, I tried the table idea Aq01 and it didn't work but thanks anyway. Fortunately, I have fixed the problem with the gallery but now when I have fixed one problem I have created another. I have uploaded this page so you can take a look.

    http://cakesrus.110mb.com/Picture2Us...togallery.html

    The problem now in this page is with the footer. The footer is relatively positioned so I don't understand why it does not appear central and underneath the gallery. I put the top text in a relatively positioned div and made the text alignment to the left and that all works. Please could you give me some help or tips, thanks.

    Try moving your footer div within the body div as you have define an id as "body". I dont usually like naming a div with the same names as html tags, but in any event, that should work.

    Also, do you have firefox? if so you should download the free firebug tool. It works really well at debugging coding errors and especially in this case, divs out of place than what you may have intended.

    Hi,

    I have done this, I have even tried moving the div outside of the div body tag and it still does not work. The footer is a table designed in Fireworks so it is a table in a div if you get what I mean.
    I think I understand the problem though, the problem I have is that the gallery is absolutely positioned and so it does not really care about anything else on the page. Therefore the footer does not take note of the gallery as it is relatively positioned. I tried putting a relatively positioned box around the AP Div but it moves way out of position and I all my attempts of putting it right have failed and why does the footer not centralise, on all the other pages it centralises and it has exactly the footer of these pages has the same class as I am using Dreamweaver templates.

    I know I am almost there it just requires a genius web designer to offer a valuable solution which I am sure all of you guys are.

    Again any more solutions would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks
