Cool designing for different screen resolutions

    Hey!
I have to design a website for majorly used screen resolutions like 1024x768 and above. What layout or positioning should I choose for this purpose?

    Thanks in advance.

How about identifying what's got to be kept at a certain size, and what can change size?

If you think about the parts this way, it can get a little easier to get comfortable with the layout possibilities. Aside from maybe a photo, or a specialized graphic or movie, a lot of the content does not have to hold to a certain size or dimension.

All that stuff that doesn't have to be a certain size: those are good candidates for percentage sizes or combination sizes (e.g., X% with a max-width of Ypx).

If the content is already determined for the website (like, the report is already written), then it is a lot easier to get going with the markup and styling. For one thing, you would already know about what has got to go on the page. Look at what's going on the page. The content itself can lead you to see many of the obvious answers, and get this problem cut down to a manageable size.

Not the little layout icons in the editor programs; not the idea whomever had about what's cool; but the content for the page; the content itself can show you a lot about what the content of the page is going to need.

    Look at the content.
