    Dreamweaver CS4 problem

    Anyone please help.
How do I insert the <TITLE> tag in design view when the hyperlink is an image?
In the properties inspector there is only an ALT box.
I wish to use the TITLE tag all the time instead of ALT as Firefox doesn't recognise the ALT tag for rollovers (tooltips).
Is there any way to make the TITLE tag the default?

    All help much appreciated

    Hi

Could you not use the code view to add in the title attribute to the img tag?

If you can't find the image in the code you can use live view and live code together at the same time to locate the code.

I could use the code view but not coding by hand means a lot of messing about and very time consuming changing from design view to code view, finding the image and then going back to design view for every link.

i assure you that coding by hand is a lot faster and less time consuming once you know what you are doing.

WYSIWYG is nice for exceptionally basic things, but it is rather limited at the end of the day and you simply won't be able to do with it. As you've seen, it can't do everything you need to do, so at the end of the day you will need to dabble in HTML directly to achieve what you want.

I'm not aware of any way to add a TITLE tag to an image using the DW interface without going in to code view - title is "optional", whereby alt is "required" (if you are conforming to accepted standards), hence why there is probably no field to add this on images.

What I really need it for is for putting captions in lightbox & videobox.
This can only be done by using the TITLE tag.

use the split view, click on the image, it will highlight the code for you, you can edit from there.

You are mistaken. Its not the title tag. Its the title attribute that takes in the captions for lightbox and videobox
    e.g. <a href="#" title="The caption goes here."><img src="someimage.jpg" alt=""></a>
