    Menu Problem

    Hi

I have a problem with a menu that I am hoping someone can help with.

The menu is created using a table.

The menu contains a sub menu, which should only be displayed when displaying the parent menu items page. I have used the display:none CSS setting to hide the sub rows for pages where I don’t want to display it but this leaves a gap between the main menu items when no sub menu is displayed. Anyone have any ideas?

I have attached the HTML for the homepage (no submenu’s should be displayed) and a page for which the submenu should be displayed together with the CSS for each of the two HTML pages and the common CSS that all share. Due to attachment limit all the CSS is copied into common file (CSS.txt)

I previously tried using a list approach which although fixed the row gap problem gave another issue in that but the icon that is displayed when a menu item is hovered over had issues (when showing sub menu the icon was displayed for both main and sub menu item).

    Any help greatly appreciated.

NO! You shouldn't use a tables for layout. They are for presenting tabular data.

With that said, I'd recommend you to check http://www.htmldog.com/articles/suckerfish/dropdowns/, which is good article on making drop down menus.
