    Renders in IE7 but not Firefox. Can you please help?

    My company hired someone to redesign our company website and it came out pretty good except that it only renders properly in IE7. I added a meta tag to all of the pages so that compatibility mode is always used when viewed in IE8.

    Is there something that can be done to get this to render properly in firefox?

    This is my company website: www.greenintl.com

    Hello thedragon,
    It helps to be a little more specific than saying IE7 gets it right. You've obviously been looking at the site for a while and are pretty familiar with it.
    I hope I can help with the differences I find.

    When I look at it in FF, I see .MenuBarHorizontal does not go the full width of it's container.
    You might fix that by making your CSS look like this -
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal {
    	list-style-type: none;
    	font-size: 100%;
    	cursor: default;
    	background-color: #FFF;
    	/*height: auto;*/
    overflow: auto;
    	margin-top: 0;
    	margin-right: 0;
    	margin-bottom: 0;
    	margin-left: 0px;
    	padding: 0px;
    	/*width: 100%;*/
    #footer is also different, there is more #ccc from #container underneath it in IE7. Is that the way it should look?
    This will put the gap at the bottom in both FF3.5 and IE7 -
    .oneColFixCtrHdr #container {
    	width: 1119px;
    	text-align: left; /* this overrides the text-align: center on the body element. */
    	margin-top: 0;
    	margin-right: auto;
    	margin-bottom: 0;
    	margin-left: auto;
    padding: 0 0 20px;
    	background-color: #CCC;
    	border: thin none #000;
    .oneColFixCtrHdr #footer {
    	background-color: #333;
    	padding-top: 0;
    	padding-right: 10px;
    	padding-bottom: 0px;
    	padding-left: 14em;
    	/*margin-bottom: 20px;*/

    I did not notice any other differences but I only looked at the one page.

    I have to wonder about the guy you hired to do this site for you. He doesn't seem to have finished it. The comments scattered around in the CSS, attached CSS instead of linked, the use of tables, not cleaning things up or even testing in various browsers... all seem to indicate inexperience.
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
