Two Problems With My Layout In IE

First - Why can't I float images in IE?

Second - Why won't my min-width setting work in IE?

The page in question is validated and shows no errors - so what is wrong? Why does the W3C validate a page that doesn't work properly? I don't understand that.

Thirdly - can someone please write a virus that will destroy Internet Explorer on all computers, worldwide and make them automatically install Firefox instead. I would like this by next Thursday, please. Thank you.

Validation just means the syntax is correct, not that you used it properly.

    They're working on it.

    Why bother?

If the syntax is correct, W3C guidelines for use were followed and it works in Firefox, then I used it properly. The problem is with IE and it's possible you know it. If you are aware of a common workaround, please post.

Hey... how can we correct your code without seeing it?

I didn't ask you to correct it. I'm asking why images will not float in IE.

Alright then... Maybe I have made a mistake? I'll post up code if nothing I try next works.

Not sure, under which category your question will likely to fall on this, but seriously, there's no such float issue in IE. There might be something wrong in your code, or your code might need some fixes to get a proper display. We are not psychic, after all

This is true. You're most likely right about the code.

I stand corrected. It was something stupid on my part. I had a div trying to survive and images trying to float, inside an H1. Even more stupid is that I tried to float images left in the first place, when their native flow is horizontal.

    Sorry for any wasted time.

    Regards

    Dr. V
