    Align Text on the Same Line

    Hi,

    I have a marquee in my code and would like a text description on the left for what the marquee shows. This aligns fine in IE but in firefox they are on serperate lines? my html and css are below:

    Code:
    <p id="paras1">
    Teams
    <marquee id="marq" behavior="scroll" direction="left" scrollamount="2">
    Arsenal
    Aston Villa
    Blackburn Rovers
    Bolton Wanderers
    Chelsea
    </marquee>
    </p>
    CSS
    Code:
    #marq {
    font-size : 12px;
    color : gray;
    word-spacing : 15px;
    font-weight : bold;
    background-color : #ffffff;
    margin-left: 20%;
    width: 80%;
    background-color: #f5f8ec;
    }
    #paras1{
    font-size : 14px;
    font-family : calibri, helvetica;
    color : gray;
    font-weight: semi-bold;
    text-align:left;
    }

    I would try closing the <p> tag and then having <marquee> after that. Try applying float:left to both.

    Code:
    <p id="paras1">
    Teams
    </p>
    <marquee id="marq" behavior="scroll" direction="left" scrollamount="2">
    Arsenal
    Aston Villa
    Blackburn Rovers
    Bolton Wanderers
    Chelsea
    </marquee>
    Code:
    #marq {
    font-size : 12px;
    color : gray;
    word-spacing : 15px;
    font-weight : bold;
    background-color : #ffffff;
    margin-left: 20%;
    width: 80%;
    background-color: #f5f8ec;
    float:left;}
    #paras1{
    font-size : 14px;
    font-family : calibri, helvetica;
    color : gray;
    font-weight: semi-bold;
    text-align:left;
    float:left;
    }
    Learning along the way...

    That had no effect at all. I'm sure you can't use float for text. Any other suggestions?
