    link doesnt work how do i

    i have a link on someone elses website which is wrong and i cant get hold of the webmaster to make changes.

    the link is a doanload link in the form
    http://www.mywebsite/folder/installer.msi

    now the actaul download link is:
    http://www.mywebsite/folder/installer.zip

    now is there any method i can use so that when someone clicks the first link on the website it will be redirected to automatically download the program using the SECOND link?

    Assuming Apache, if you have access to the server config, drop a redirect into the site's config file. This may also work in .htaccess, but I'm not sure.

    Redirect permanent /folder/installer.msi http://www.mywebsite/folder/installer.zip
    For reference, see the Apache docs for mod_alias. If you're on IIS or some other inferior server (), I don't know how that's handled.
