website dropped from google page 1 to 31!! HELP!!!!!!!

    Hi peeps.

ok, a month or so ago our website was on page 1 google for 'rubber flooring'

    http://www.therubberfloorstore.co.uk

i do not have control of the website at this time (will be taking control soon as the contract with old host is nearing end) but i have access to change tiny bits and meta tags etc via a CMS.

    after a discussion here:

    http://www.codingforums.com/showthre...407#post824407

we changed some keywords but now we have dropped off google's radar!

if i google for 'buy rubber flooring' our website shows up in the top 4 or so. but obvioously we have lost trade since this google re-index.

i know the website needs reformatting - its all in tables etc but this isnt something i can change right now.

if i log into google webtools it shows the following....

    # Query Position
    1 slate effect tiles 12
    2 rubber flooring adhesive 9
    3 rubberflooring 4
    4 acrylic flooring 6
    5 rubber skirting 8
    6 rubber floor store 1
    7 floorstore 3
    8 buy rubber flooring 6
    9 flooring by henton 3
    10 rubber shop flooring 4

we really need to get back on page 1 for 'rubber flooring' and 'rubber floor'

any ideas????????? i would really appreciate any help as this is a family business (mrs and her dad) and they need all the help they can get in this economic crisis

many thanks to anyone who can help!

SEO wise, your actual content looks quite good. Some suggestions...

    1. You have a relatively long title. Have a look at Title optimization.

    2. Suggest you use <h1> tags for you title. (rubber flooring specialists) and perhaps make use of <h2> for your other headings. I believe that helps.

(Also, I trust you are aware that your dropdown submenus are appearing under you flash on the home page? Doesn't look particularly professional!)

Edit: Also, read this post: Meta tags, rss, etc

Also how often your content is updated affects google ranking.

Are those ahead of you brand names? It could be the Vince change in their recent Algorithm switchup plus some other factors.

Another reason could be the title tags have changed... that will also drop you in the rankings, albeit temporarily.
