    ť show up as √©

    I need to make an html email in French.

    Whenever I need to use the ť character it gets replaced with √© when viewed.

    I have a feeling that this is because the doctype is not specified or some such since there is no heading in an html email.

    is there any way around this?

    thanks for any help.

    Use é instead of ť. HTML doesn't recognise it I don't believe.

    Reference for all of there is here: http://www.miswebdesign.com/resource...eferences.html

    You should set the MIME type of the document to UTF 8. The doctype has nothing to do with this. But the HTML entity Kristofa showed does the trick a well.

    It's a special character, which is
    Code:
    & # 233 ;
    only don't put the spaces in (it keeps changing it to the actual letter here).
