    div does not stay within wrapper in IE 6 for windows

    I am hoping someone can help me with this issue-- the div in question is the banner at the top. It is placed within a div that is designed to make the entire layout center in the browser. It works on all mac browsers but on windows IE the banner div aligns with the content div instead of staying within the wrapper.

    [code]

    #wrapper {
    position:relative;
    text-align:left;
    width: 812px;
    height:1200px;
    margin: auto;
    padding: 0px 10px 10px 0px;
    background-color:#990000;
    z-index: 4;
    }

    [code]

    I am also using the javascript CSS vertical menu that I found on javascriptkit.com. I altered it a bit, so now I am not sure if I did something that is causing the problem. You can see the page online at http://www.paintedfrog.com/Life_Sciences_web.

    I would very much appreciate any help. I did try several things I saw on previous posts, but nothing has worked so far.

    Thanks!

    I would not worry about problems your site has in IE6. Just work on making your stuff work with IE7/8 and FF3.
    Not much, but its something.

    No need to use absolute positions for your header. Try
    Code:
    #banner{
    	/*position:absolute;
    	top: 0px;*/
    	border-width: 1px;
    	border-style: solid;
    	padding: 10px 10px 10px 10px;
    	text-align: right;
    	background-color:#000000;
    	background-repeat: no-repeat;
    	z-index:1;
    }
    Check http://bonrouge.com/2c-hf-fixed.php, which is a good 2 column layout.

    Thanks. I tried this but it messed up the layout in on the mac. I have to go elsewhere to test on PC so I didn't check to see if it resolved anything, but I will do that soon. Do you think this is the only way to resolve the issue?
