    Frames (shudder), scrolling="no" and overflow:auto;

    Hello

    Due to the archaic nature of an app I am working on, we unfortunately have to use frames - which just causes more problems than we need. Anyway...

    My problem is that on a few pages I want scrollbars to appear, on others I don't want them to appear.

    This combination seems most logical:

    on the frameset set scrolling="auto"
    on the page set overflow:hidden;

    However, in IE7, a white gap appears where the frameset was supposed to go.

    So, I tried this combination:

    on the frameset set scrolling="no"
    on the page set overflow:auto;

    ...doesn't work. But why? Is it not possible to override the scrolling="no" attribute of the frame?

    Answers on a postcard please! I'm baffled.
