Need help coding administrative access and editing

    Hi,

I'm working on creating a website for a soccer team/academy. However, I am not familiar with making member logins and sections where once the member logs in, they can hit an edit button and edit the format/content of a page without having to go into the code and manually change it and republish it every time. So I need to make something that has features like facebook or any other social site with regards to an edit button and uploading files.

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on where I should start?

    Thank you

Use a server-side script language if your web site allows it. Otherwise, you will have to use a client-side dependent "mailto:" action to get the form info sent to you.

Just use any of the below sites to make the workable form you need:

    For making forms:

These are really good online form makers. Just follow the instructions for making it and uploading file(s).

Warning, your current hosting package must allow SMTP ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_...nsfer_Protocol ) to work. Otherwise, no email can be sent.

Thanks for the help. I'll look into these. I have all summer to work on this.

I have a good understanding of html and css and I've made a few websites before that are pretty decent. I've just never made a website with administrative powers that can allow someone to log in and edit the website online instead of doing it via code and publishing each time.

I'll look into these sites and if I have any more questions I'll ask on here. Thank you again!

My advice is to use a CMS. You've got plenty of scope to play with the CSS amd HTML (templates). Try Joomla! or Wordpress or if you need a challenge Drupal. If you make your own be prepared to study the security aspects required otherwise your site will get hacked fairly pronto. Set up a WAMP or LAMP server on your own PC and later host it when going live.
