    Question Newbie needs helps on browser diff.

    hello all,
    I am new here.

    I am doing css and h tml code for a website and I came across browser differences and know that there are conditional css to apply for each browser.

    Can I know how or have a link as how to give conditional css for IE 6, IE7, FF2, FF3, Google chrome?

    thanks

    The only browser that needs conditional CSS is IE. That works out well since the method of applying a conditional stylesheet (with conditional commenting):

    Code:
    <!--[if IE]>
      <link href="ie.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    <![endif]-->
    is only recognized by IE. The other browsers all play by the rules and are standards compliant. The few, slight rendering differences between them can be circumvented easily without sacrificing design integrity.

    If you use a strict DOCTYPE and ensure your code validates, then there are few instances when you'll need to use a conditional stylesheet in the first place.

    Do not aspire to "pixel perfect" layouts. Reference: About.com: Web Design/HTML -- You Can't Get Every Page to Look Identical, So Stop Trying!

    thanks for your help,

    I have one more doubt, Are there conditional css for FF2 Vs FF3? because I can see lots of differences in height for a website I give in FF2 and FF3 and also differences in 1024px and 1200px resolution.

    Any ideas?

    No worries, the mod is referring to the previous post by the now-banned florachristi (not your question).

    Anyway, I'm just browsing. I'm a beginner with CSS myself so I can't offer you any help aside from the above clarification.

    Good luck!
