Exclamation What is the best way to preload images?

What is the best way to preload images? CSS or Javascript?
I am assuming that Jscript is enabled. I have looked around but I am still undecided.

    Any help gratefully received.

    Frank,

What are your intentions for the images? If they're meant to be part of an image gallery you click through without leaving a particular page, then you're probably using Javascript to achieve that functionality anyway, so js would be the way to go.

If you're interested in preloading images to swap as backgrounds for rollover buttons (using CSS), the best way is to avoid the preload issue altogether and use this method.

    Thanks,

I have discovered that I already have a program.
My 83 yr old RAM (memory - very random!) has just remembered where it was. This is it.

    Thanks for your input.
