Are colored scrollbars cross browser compatible?

    Hi

I've read a few older articles that say colored scrollbar attributes aren't recognised by Netscape or Firefox.

Is there a cross browser compatible way of doing this?

    Cheers

    Shaun

No, and it’s good that it isn’t. Changing the built-in user interface is not recommended for accessibility reasons and it’s just amateur.

    Hi VIP

After reading that article, I think you may has misunderstood what I want to do. I do not wish to create different shaped or unobvious scroolbars - I'd just like them to be the standard scrolbar, but in colors that suit my website theme - as in the examples of good scrollbars that article gave.

    Here's an example - http://www.harmonyhollow.net/cool_web_scrollbars.shtml

I think it's completely obvious to the user that the scrollbar is there, even though it's a different color.

Is there a cross browser way of doing this?

    Thanks

    Shaun

To change the colors of the scrollbars in Firefox, Netscape, and Flock browsers you have to replace the images they use. This can only be done on one's own computer.
