Question Buttons in IE versus Firefox

Why won't the following work in IE? ( I have tried placing it in a form tags. )
    Code:
    <a href="dbview.php" style="text-decoration: none"><input type="button" name="GO" id="GO" value="Submit" /></a>
I've only been able to get the following text link to work.
    Code:
    <a href="dbview.php" style="text-decoration: none">Click here to view entries.</a>

    Why not something like this?
    Code:
    <form action="dbview.php" method="post"><input type="submit" name="GO" id="GO" value="Submit" /></form>

Or be nicer to the validator and style the anchor to look like a button? =P
