    Firefox Shifts my layout

    I’m having the following problem with FIREFOX and surprisingly not with IE. When I have something scrolling it seems to shift the page a pixel to the left. When maximized it looks fine, which makes absolutely no sense. This is driving me nuts, has anyone run into this problem?

    Any help would be really appreciated.

    Hello phasetrip,
    It's FF's way of centering your background. Depending on the width of your browser there may be an even or odd number pixels to center.
    So it can move back and forth 1px while your resizing the width.

    A few other things...
    Code:
    body {
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	margin-left: auto;
    	margin-right: auto;    background: url(../images/top-header-bg.jpg) center repeat-y #797565;
    	padding:0px;
    }

    #container {
    	margin: 0 auto;
    	text-align:center;
    	width: 943px;
    }
    That bit in red up there. Your body is the full width of the browser, so nothing to center... especially nothing to center twice.

    Check my suggestion and links about validating in my sig.
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
