    links and bg image issue

OK. Let's say you want to have a link with a background image. Let's say the image is 200x200. Let's say you want the image to display when you hover over it. So, you'd set the width and height of your <a> element to 200x200. However, what if you only want the actual link text to be clickable, and not the entire 200x200? Is there a way to display the image while only making the link text active?

    Thanks!

    Hello johnnyblotter,
It sounds like you want a disjointed rollover. I don't think you can have the image hover over the link though... never tried that. It would not appear behind it either.
Here's some things you can do with disjointed rollovers:
    http://nopeople.com/CSS/disjointed_rollover/

    http://nopeople.com/CSS/disjointed_rollover_photoalbum/

    hope that helps a little.
