    FF/IE differences

    I'm trying to create a blog layout and I'm fairly new to this. This is the site: http://bddesigns.diaryland.com/. It looks fine in Firefox but not so great in IE. Can anyone help me fix it so it looks the same?

    Here's the code:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Belladonna Designs</title>
    <style type="text/css">
    <!--
    .entry { font-family: verdana;
    font-size: 8pt;
    color: ECF0FE;
    padding: 5px;
    clear: center;
    resize=no; }
    .nav { font-family: verdana;
    font-size: 8pt;
    letter-spacing: 2px;
    color:B3C8F3;
    padding: 5px;
    clear: center;
    resize=no; }
    .image { background-color: ECF0FE;
    clear: center;
    border: 1px solid;
    color: 000000;
    resize=no; }

    a:link {text-decoration: none; font-weight: none; color: #3C68A4}
    a:visited {text-decoration: none; font-weight: none; color: #3C68A4}
    a:hover {text-decoration: none; cursor: crosshair; color: #D5DFF3}
    a:active {text-decoration: none; font-weight: bold; color: #D5DFF3}
    -->
    </style>
    </head>

    <body bgcolor="ECF0FE">
    <div id="background" style="position:absolute; width:727px; height:502px; z-index:1; left: 145px; top: 1px"><img src="http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w63/_atropabelladonna_/diaryland/circles.png"></div>

    <div id="entry" style="position:absolute; width:357px; height:207px; z-index:2; left: 193px; top: 181px; overflow: auto" class="entry">
    <div align="left">

    <p align="right"><a href="%%next%%">forward</a>&<a href="%%prev%%">reverse</a></p>

    </div>

    <div id="links" style="position:absolute; width:160px; height:129px; z-index:4; left: 225px; top: 400px" class="nav">

    You appear to have most of your css commented out.

    AND no Doctype. You can't expect consistent results without a Doctype.

    You also have quite a bit of CSS that is invalid. I suggest you actually learn CSS rather than just try things and hope they work. www.htmldog.com is a decent site.
