    CSS Positioning - Gaps?

    Hi,

    I'm having a little bit of difficulty with a layout that I'm trying to convert to HTML/CSS

    It's funny, because layout-wise, ie is actually displaying more correctly than firefox.

    HTML:
    http://synthdriven.com/ccms/layout2/index.html
    CSS:
    http://synthdriven.com/ccms/layout2/style.css

    This is what I get in IE (6):
    (I'm aware of my alpha-transparency issues with the pngs-- bugs I'm currently working out. The flash bit in the upper left though, I don't know why it works in firefox but not in ie.)

    This is what I get in firefox:

    I'm interested in a little bit of a hybrid of the two. In firefox, if there would just be no gaps between my divs, things would be good. And in ie, if I could just display that flash bit in the upper left

    Any ideas as to what might be wrong?? Any ideas or suggestions or pointers to tutorials that might answer my problem?

    Thanks much

    To get rid of the gabs, try to add this to your css:

    * { margin:0;
    padding:0;
    }

    I think it would sort it out, but I'm not 100 % sure.

    Hi there verd,

    and a warm welcome to these forums.

    try adding these rules to your stylesheet...
    Code:
    .topbar img {
        display:block;
     }
    #header span {
        float:left;
     }
