Centering a site Vertically and Horizontally

A well documented problem I know...

I have a site that is designed for 1024 X 768 viewport, with the css negative margin technique to center it in the middle of the page, which is excellent for all viewports @ 1024 x 768 and higher.

As soon as you view the site in lower resolutions, the top of the site starts to get chopped off, and this gets more and more severe the lower the resolution....not an ideal solution...

I am sorely tempted to go back to the old centering table technique.

How do you center a site vertically and horizontally for 1024 X 768 and higher without sacrificing the top of the page for lower resolutions?
