    Unhappy I can't change Background

    The background color. I am wanting to change the background from blue to stars. The code for the one I want is
    <style type="text/css">
    Body {
    Background-image: URL(http://WWW.cod2files.Com/graphics/ba...79554748.GIF);
    }
    </style>
    <a href="http://WWW.cod2files.Com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://WWW.cod2files.Com/support.GIF" alt="Myspace Layouts" style="position:absolute; left:0px; top: 0px;" border="0"></a>
    But when I copy and paste it doesn't change.

    If anyone want to view the site its, http://www.myspace.com/funk2it,
    I hope someone can help please.

    The <style type="text/css"></style> part must be between <head> and </head>. And I'd put a doctype on that page also:

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
    I don't know how much Myspace allows you to change the code, but it's always a good idea to validate.

    You've got something in place that's adding styles as well. I don't know if it's something you added or something via MySpace. Either way, this will hack around it:

    Code:
    <style type="text/css">
       body {
          background-image: url(http://www.cod2files.com/graphics/backgrounds/1/3425679554748.gif)!important;
       }
    </style>
    In the meantime, find out what's giving your background a color of #888888 and get rid of it.

    Smile You forgot something

    Perhaps you must sign a " ' " to the css like that:

    Code:
    <style>
    body {
    background-image: url('Your URL')
    }
    </style>
    Exp:
    PHP
    .NET

    Thankyou so much for all your help, rmedek the code you gave me puts a stripe of stars across my profile, and when I go up and it goes with me, but the blue stays.
    I can clear all the information out of the "About me" box and I still have the blue background, where else can I look for the #888888, or must I just give up.
    You have been really great, thanks everyone.

    Look in your stylesheet. You have the body selector four times and below the second one is the property background-color:, which have the value #888888.

    You have a style sheet titled UserStyle.ashx with the following background attributes:

    Code:
    body{background-color:#888888;}table, td{background:url("http://x.myspace.com/images/spacer.gif") transparent no-repeat 0px 0px; border:0;padding:3px;}

    That would be properties and not attributes.

    I'm really sorry about this, but how do I find the style sheet.

    Thanks for being so patient

    You don't have control over the stylesheet because this isn't a traditional website, it's a MySpace layout. Try this putting this in your profile:

    Code:
    <style type="text/css">
       body {
          background-image: url(http://www.cod2files.com/graphics/backgrounds/1/3425679554748.gif)!important;
       }
          background-repeat: repeat!important;
          background-color: ffffff!important;
    </style>
    Essentially you are overruling styles with these custom rules. I used longhand and omitted the normal "#" because MySpace sucks ***. I mean, because for some reason you have to do that in order for it to work. You can read more about hacking MySpace layouts here: http://www.mikeindustries.com/blog/a...yspace-layouts
