    Myspace banner help

    Hello,
    This is my first post on this great forum! I came here because I need some help on a myspace banner. I don't know anything about coding or html so I googled some things and found this site! I have the image(banner) saved on imageshack but I need a code to put it on myspace. I would like it below the ads and navigation menu. I think it's called a "masthead" banner? I want it to link back to my website. Can someone please help me with this? Btw, it's a "standard" myspace page and not a "music" page. Thanks in advance!

    Link?

    A link to your site would be helpful. Also, since not everyone is familiar with how much (or rather little) control one has over content and placement on a MySpace page, please indicate the options you have for placing a masthead/banner on a MySpace page.

    If you would want to include an image as pure content, the img element would do, something along these lines:

    Code:
    <img src="http://www.theserver.com/somefolder/yourimage.jpg"  alt="[a description of the image]">
    However, a masthead often is regarded as decoration which would make setting it as a background to some or another element via CSS more appropriate; for that we really need more info, though.
    Regards,
    Ronald.

    Thanks for replying! In myspace, there are different sections, like "about me", "people I would like to meet", etc. There is not a blank space to put a banner at the top of the page. I put a url below that is a example of what I want to do. Notice the banner at the top. They actually give the code so you can put that same banner at the top of your myspace page. Could I use that same code, but just replace the image and link, or is that illegal. I'm sorry, I know nothing about coding. Thanks! I also gave a link to my myspace.

    Could you be a little more specific which banner? You want the smosh.com banner displayed as it is on their page? I see you actually have one, have you done what you wanted? (and this post can be closed now?)

    I hope this helped someone. Due to this forums lame rep system penalising me for nothing, and admins inability to do anything about it, I'm sorry to say I will no longer be online here. Pride is important. Good Luck All.

    hey i can help you with your linking problem. if you use photobucket it does this for you already. when you paste the html link they give you into your about me or where-ever you can go into the coding and find the href which is the link this will be set to link people to photobucket when they click the pictures you can change this to the url of the site you desire. myspace does have aids and sometimes wont let you, just be very persistant it took me ages to get time to work properly. check out mine on my page they are down the left hand side and are links to my bands. hope this helped you a bit
