    Question CSS Column Situation

    Hey,

I am working on a website, and it is a two-column layout, but I need to enhance the left column. For reference, the website is RentalNook.com. I want the left column of the front page (gray) to have a 50ish pixel gradient from gray to white on the left of the column. But currently it fills a 800x600 resolution screen. Is it possible to extend the left column in such a way to hide it from 800x600 but not from anything higher? I know its possible, you just have to make it not influence the main width so it doesn't have to scroll horizontally. Any ideas? Thanks!

I’m guessing that you fixed this? The page looks fine at an 800×600 resolution.
For every complex problem, there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.

Yes sorry, I posted on another forum and found the answer I was looking for. a background needed to be applied to the body only in order to not affect the width of the page.
