Enbedded table creating extra horizontal pixels..

    Page served at http://www.kingairinc.com

Problem has to do with the table creating this extra space (shown in blue)you can see in this screenshot. I have tried specifying height. I have tried using valign. I also tried redoing the table from scratch. I can't seem to tell where the lines are coming from. Any insight will be much appreciated. If I can provide any more information, please don't hesitate to ask.

I have tried to comment as much as possible here to provide any insight for anyone debugging this. After loading the link above, all comments should be self explanitory. Again, if I can provide any more info, please dont' hesitate to ask.

    Thanks in advance,

    Code:

Download Firefox or Opera and it all goes away.

At least now you know that you will be able to eliminate the problem by searching the Internet Explorer Table Hacks. Page looks fine in FF2 and Opera9. I only saw this problem in IE6 and IE7

    Thanks a ton Jlhaslip.

Also...after perusing this sight more, it seems I need to bring my CSS skills up to date and get rid of those old tables. I am surprised someone didn't beat me up about it in this post

I was tempted, but it was late in the evening and I was looking forward to going to bed, so didn't want to get too upset. That would've disturbed my sleep...

    Goodmorning CypSteel,
I was tempted to and didn't.
Have you seen what the validator has to say when it looks at your site? I can't help you with tables but you can see if the validator finds it for you.
Check out the links in my sig, about validating and using tables.
Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad

Thanks again for all your insight guys.

So I have had my head crammed in a CSS book all morning and have started to rewrite the page from scratch. A question came to mind:

Is there any disadvantage to creating too many <div class> tags? And if I want to make a 10 pixel spacer bar, is <div class> the right way to do it?

Easy to get divitis. That's a real term, google it.
If you need a space use margin or padding to get it instead of a spacer.
