    Need some basic help. Having troubles

    Hello,
    I'm this simple website for a client and thought coding would be easy but it's turning out to be frustrating.

    I made this design:

    I tried slicing it so each button was a slice but it was a pain in the *** to position and it looked sloppy. so instead i made the header one big pic and removed the buttons from the pic and decided to just put in some css text buttons on top of hte pic where the buttons are suppose to be. However, I'm having trouble positioning them and in IE/Firefox they look totally different.

    Any ideas to how I can just position them close to where the buttons are in the mock up using CSS?

    Here it is live http://www.salonessentials.ca/Site3/

    Thanks.

    Hello ashgotti,
    You can start with this maybe:
    Code:
    height:234px;
    }
    #topbuttons {
    	float:right;
    	margin-left:30px;
    	margin-right:10px;
    	margin-top:5px;
    	word-spacing: 10px; (take this line out)
    	line-height: 1; (take this line out)
    }
    #bodyspace {
    	width:900px;
    	left:0px;
    overflow: hidden; (added this to clear your floats)
    }
    #containerR {
    	width:666px;
    	float:right;
    But there is no point in positioning a bunch of text that is not even configured as a menu yet. Look at this for how to use an unordered list to make a menu.
    and this

    But BEFORE you do any of that you need to get a DocType and work on validating your code. Seems like a pain, I know, but it will help in the long run!! Check the links in my sig below -
    Validate often DURING development - Use it like a splelchecker | Debug during Development |Write it for FireFox, ignore IE
    Use the right DocType | Validate your markup | Validate your CSS | Why validating is good | Why tables are bad
