Online Graphic/Banner Creation - Good App?

Does anyone have any links of GOOD (non-spammy, good featured) links to websites that have apps that edit/create good quality banners for mastheads for website creation?

I am looking for something to create web graphics that primarily include fonts for mastheads.

Theres GIMP, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, and I'm sure there are dozens of smaller programs that you can google.

All online generators I have come across create very cheesy and unprofessional graphics.
