    Embedded WMP

    Hi,
    I'm new member on this forum, I would like to ask one question about Embedded WMP, I have got the following codes on my page:

    <object id="MediaPlayer" width=100% height=350 classid="CLSID:22D6f312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95" standby="Loading Windows Media Player components..." type="application/x-oleobject" codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=6,4,7,1112">

    <param name="filename" value="/movies/MK.txt">
    <param name="Showcontrols" value="True">
    <param name="Showstatusbar" value="True">
    <param name="autoStart" value="True">
    <PARAM NAME="EnableContextMenu" VALUE="false">
    <PARAM NAME="Loop" VALUE="True">

    <embed type="application/x-mplayer2" src="/movies/MK.txt" name="MediaPlayer" width=100% height=350></embed>

    </object>

    But the only problem is when videos plays they leaves the url address of videos, Is it possible to make this not visiable? Or just this url address can be found only on temporary Internet folders cause when you just type the first character (alphabet) of my website it shows the address of that videos and so on.

    The reason of creating asx was to hide these videos address. Please help me my embedded wmp not showing this.

    I will be much appreciated to get ideas and help from you.

    Many thanks,
    MK

    Thats not even an asx file its a text file. Afraid to say it but once its on the net there is nothing you can do to stop it from being taken. Live with it.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply, i'm not sure either it is asx file cause i have read online and shows how to create asx, its my mistake let me show those codes:

    <ASX VERSION="3.0">
    <title>TITLE HERE</title>
    <copyright>COPYRIGHT</copyright>
    <entry>
    <author>AUTHOR NAME</author>
    <title>TITLE OF SONG</title>
    <ref href ="ADDRESS OF THE SONG"/>
    </entry>
    </asx>

    My video files are wmv and i have checked on other website like http://www.soundslam.com/av/av.php on that website when you play videos, you can not see address of videos by typing on address bar unless you check view source or on temporary Internet folders. So i would like the same behaviour to be on my website.

    You can try and check what i'm talking about on my website www.mahusiano.com though the videos are not in english but just to get the point. the videos section is on www.mahusiano.com/8.html

    On audio side (www.mahusiano.com) is very good and it doesn't show audio address unless you open temporary Internet folders.

    Please help me on this.

    Many thanks.
    MK

    Nota Bene: Is there any problem with style="filter:xray" on internet explorer 7 and the old one cause when i switch tabs that bar contain buttons of play, stop etc become invisiable i.e. completely white! any idea?

    They use streaming urls which is why theres don't show up. In order to stream a url you need a streaming server.

    Code:
    <asx version="3.0">
    <title>Lonely</title>
    <author>Akon</author>
    <copyright>&#169; 2004 Universal Motown Records Group</copyright>

    I don't know if this is stupid question but i think is better to ask, where can i get that streaming server? Or what can i do mostly to have that behaviour?

    Do you have any idea of that style="filter:xray" as asked above?

    Thanks,
    MK

    Don't use the xray filter. Thats the 'noob' thing to do. It only works in IE. I don't recommend it.
