Question Simple Scroll Bars! Please Help!

Hey, this may sound silly, but im rather new to this kinda thing

Im working on a page on myspace http://www.myspace.com/smurkymarmelade

as you will see, there are quite a few lists, which take up a lot of room. I was wondering if there is a code i could use to put each list into a simple scroll bar?

    thankyou xXxXx

    Holy Cow!!

    That was a painful experience!

I'm back here again after my Firefox crashed while loading your site.

I can't say this stuff without sounding like I'm totally bashing your site,
because you probably worked hard on it ... but as a learning experience,
please don't take the comments personal. Saying this in person and typing
it on this forum ... it doesn't come out the same way.

With a dial-up service, your page is so large (in byte size), I finally had to
hit my stop button. Once I was able to see something, I couldn't read anything
because the text is hot pink/purple on a blueish background and my LCD
display contrast is too bright ... making the text too difficult to read.

You seem to be linking all images and everything from other websites. This is
called "hot-linking" and is considered a "no-no" in the web design world.

You need to get all of the images and external files on your own web server,
or webhost and reference everything from within your own site.

Some kind of "media player" tried to load and that's when things went bad.

    ==========================

You don't need ways to "list" things, you need to re-organize your site into
smaller pages and more logical content flow. A better selection of fonts and
font colors, and control over your own images (not stolen from other sites).

Get rid of the unnecessary Javascripting (I think the hearts are supposed to
fall ... that didn't work for me either on Firefox).

Kudos to you for learning how to make a webpage, but I would suggest you
look at other websites and follow some other examples ... your site is just
not going in the right direction.

...to answer your question, put the content you want to scroll within a <div> , give it a height and set the overflow to scroll or auto.
    eg.
    Code:
    <div style = "height:100px; overflow:auto;">content here </div>

mlseim - ever tried using MySpace? Users hardly have any control over the page design without using lots and lots of bloated and invalid code. If she wanted a review she would've posted in the reviews section.

Edit, I just noticed your location smurkymarmelade lol

It's sure tough to help her out when it's difficult to view the site

Would it benefit her more if I told her that the site looks terrific?

Before she spends hours and hours working on her project, someone should
step-up and tell her that there's a little bit of a problem with her site.

She didnt ask what you thought of her site, she asked how to make certain parts of her content scroll.
Our personal opinions of her site were not requested and are not relevant to the question.

    Thankyou!:)

Thanks for your views mlseim. Im aware there are problems with it for some dial up services, but as was said before i hardly have any control over it. it works fine on my computer and all of my friends. Thats all that matters really. Its just a bit of fun, so im not really bothered about sorting it out into different pages or anything. But thanks all the same. Iv got the code i needed for now so thanks for that guys! Maybe ill work on improving it in other ways once iv got that bit sorted. Its my first time doing anything like this so i really just wanna have a bit of fun with it atm.
    xXxXx

Edit: Forgot to say thanks for the code NancyJ. Much appreciated, and answered the question i was actually asking! Cheers love! xXxXx
