    Payment process

    Hi,
I have just started looking after a website,
the website let the people to make purchases. However sometimes the website stops at the payment processing stage. The transfer doesn't go throug and stopps there. (i have checked the payment gateway).
However a purchase ID/ ID receipt is produced by the website showing it on the report. as the payment hasn't gone through so there is no purchase.
doesn anyone have an idea why this might be happening? is the communication between the webserver and payment gateway or payment gateway's server communication between the banks?
    I appreciate your answer

Not enough info to answer this.

What is the payment gateway used, and is the website pre-made, like Joomla or Drupal?

I think it’s impossible to say from here without anything else. Someone needs to look at the site/system and test things. I suppose there is a sandbox mode for the payment gateway so that its functionality can be tested without making an actual purchase?
There could be hundreds of reasons why it’s not working but really, it’s impossible to say without having a look.
