I've built myself a website, and discovered that it only really looks good and functions properly in Chrome.
I'm looking for resources to help me learn how to make my site work in any browser, mobile, etc. Some sort of tutorial which explained the 'big picture' on this topic would be most useful.
I've been searching on this and so far found nothing. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.
The first thing to do is validate your code http://validator.w3.org/ If it validates and still have problems come back and we'll discuss it.
alright - now that's plenty to think about. thanks.

After you validate, keep two things in mind.
1. IE is a lot more difficult to work with.
2. Browser specific classes could help you here, depending on how much time you have to code this.
i am using this web for cross-browsing testing
but unfortunately its not free..
You don't need any specific programs to cross-browser test. Just open your code in other browsers, and refine your code as necessary to get it functioning in said browser.
