    Basic Question about getting started

Let me start by saying I'm not completely new at web design. I have screwed around a bit and made a few websites in my spare time but never actually did anything with them.
This time around I'm building a website that I intend on using. I'm a snake breeder and I'm looking to expand and make a website. I was thinking about using wordpress, joomla or dropal. I was just wondering in your opinion what would be my best option. Its been a few years since I did any website building or coding.
I'm not looking for anything fancy. I would like to just have the basic pages. Home contact order breeders available and snakes I've sold in the past. I would like to have the pages show the different types of snakes then links to pages with a thumb nail of each snake then when you click on the thumb nail or name it will open a page dedicated to that snake. Also Im not looking to have buy buttons or anything. I was thinking about having an order page where they fill out the snake they want and then I send them a PayPal link or something like that.
Thanks any help is greatly appreciated.

My opinion here .... use WordPress.

It's easy to install and you can find many free WP themes that you can use, and customize the theme for your own specific "look". Hopefully, you have some nice snake graphics to use for your theme? WP is good for uploading your photos to the media library, adding them to posts, and allowing user comments if you wish to accept them.

A lot of various plug-ins available for custom forms, members pages, paypal, etc.

I know that people complain about WP sites ... they are sort of boring looking and they all look sort of the same, but you can have your website up and running in less than an hour if you use your webhost control panel to automatically install WP for your site.

The most time is to add content, upload photos, and arrange your categories, pages and posts.

The customizing part can be done later. You'll want to modify any theme you install so that the background images, layout, etc. fits in with your "snake" theme.

I also recommend that you just find a cheap webhost (like 1&1, cleverdot, GoDaddy, or something for $4-$8 per month). Also pick out a domain name to use at the same time. The webhosts have a thing on the control panel to install WordPress automatically with a few button clicks. If you no longer want your website after one year, just let it expire. A $50-$100 investment isn't very much to have your own website.

Pick an unused domain name ...
Example: "snakekingbreeder.com" is available (not yet taken).

Thanks for your opinion. And i already got a domain and hosting. I went with Godaddy. That was the first thing i did. I actually got 2 domains. I'm a Canadian breeder so i got a .ca and then i got the same domain with a .com and I'm going to point that to the .ca site. I started with Joomla. Its a little confusing and its slow going but its coming along. I may switch to wordpress depending on how this goes. I have a few months until i get babies so i have a bit to get the website up.

I'm no Joomla expert, but there are some others here that know something about it.

Show us what you have, when you get something going.

Ill get a link up when im a little further along. right now its pretty empty and basic. I do have a question. I posted it on the Joomla forums this morning and still haven't received a response. Im using the Real Estate template from this site http:// templatesfree . weebly . com/
Using firebug for fire fox i can delete the 4 boxed under the big one for the slides. I know that in firebug im editing the html file that is created by multiple php files, and the html file is actually not actually a file hosted on the site. Im looking to find the php file associated with that part to delete the 4 small boxes under it. I want the big one to stay but i want the little ones to go away.
