Is there a way to destroy a PDF after it is downloaded from a site?

I currently am working on a Magento based site that creates a custom PDf for restaurants. I was wondering if there is a way once downloaded to the clients machine, that will make a file corrupt after 24 hours? I can't seem to find anything out there. Thanks for any help!

You can delete the copy on the server but there is no way to do anything about the downloaded copy or any copies made from that one.

What you can do, as an alternative, is to make a download.php, which you call from an anchor tag on the page, just link to it, and it can generate the .pdf on the fly, as it were, and add an upfront disclaimer that this menu is not valid after a certain date. You can include a verification number that they bring to the restaurant when they use the menu.

There are aftermarket rights management solutions for pdf file expiration, see this thread for some options: http://www.linkedin.com/groups/Addin...87.S.210515733
