    Best server hosting?

I am in the USA and interested in finding out reliable server hosting for both Virtual and Dedicated.

Also which is better to have? Thank you.

Personally, I find virtual better because of the versatility and the option to have a more stable environment. Other's opinions may differ though. With the cloud, it's virtual, and if one hardware fails another can pick up the job.

The company I work for right now is set up a high end cloud in Cleveland's data centre. You may check that out, although I can't remember if we had the pricing figured out yet. http://quicklaun.ch/

If full virtual server is overkill however, and a shared CPanel service is all you need, I'm running highly competitively priced service right now running on top of QuickLaunch. You can checkout http://www.blahertech.com if that's more your fit.

I've been running on the shared server since 2007. It's nearly time to launch my project, but I need the speed, data transfer, space and reliability for having 300 - 500 people logged in to their accounts at one time. My shared server greatly lagged at 30 logged in.

Also any cheap virtual credit card processing companies out there that don't have hidden fees and don't have high monthly costs?

    Thanks.

The shared problem was probably a result of CPU throttling. Most shared companies do that. Being that my service is on cloud, we don't have our CPanel servers throttle (at least not planning to yet). You could always sign up for a month, and point a free domain from DynDNS to give it a try (only $3).

If you find QuickLaunch's Cloud to be better sold than Amazon's (I personally find Amazon to be confusing, and QuickLaunch was made for ease of use), just PM me and I can talk with our CIO/CTO to send you a free trial or something.

As for the credit card processing, not really. They all have merchanting withholding to protect from fraud (which you get back later), and some transaction fee. Your best bet is to just stick with Authorize.net or NMI. I've heard some processors require you to be PCI compliant, which can be a nightmare if you don't host your own hardware.

You're in the US, but are your users mostly in the US?

In any case, I would recommend Future Hosting. Give them a look. They're very popular and highly regarded in the hosting community.

According to me, If your new to this and just starting to sell VPS servers then I high recommend you take a look at a VPS Companies reseller program as some of them are quite good and can make you money along with knowledge after time; By the way great discussion for hosting server.

Always found that the hosting from WebFusion has been really reliable but it's not the cheapest you'll find. I'm even using their shared package and I run about 10 drupal sites on it and they run great.
